Lady Lemonade's Poetic Life Lessons

Honey Strings
Winter's gone
My heart melts for you
Every moment spent, moist like morning dew
You smile, that expression
I think, " Daddy, teach me a lesson"
Kiss my mouth and not my cheek
Then tell me how much you love me
Slow like honey
Sweet but it stings
I'm only here for you
So pure and true
Your hands are stong
I only want to be in your arms
Fresh linen, clean sheets
So sweet but it stings
Brigitte: A soft truth—adoring a soul who leaves bruises on the heart they occupy.
Vampire
Thursday
I thought it Friday
The lamps they bleed
Frozen meat
Underneth, quietly
The powers out again, 3 AM
Two days, I don't think it's a mistake
While everyone around us
Praying for relief
I finally found a human who doesn't bleed like me
If you're a Vampire
Do you sleep?
Are you craving connection?
Are you imprisoning me?
My whomb is still healing
I bleed, I bleed
Rotten tomatoes on the floor
She didn't want to eat
She won't sleep
Are you a Vampire?
Are you the creep?
My blood, is it sweet?
Did you ever love me, did you ever lie?
My heart it beats, our bones break
You scream
Did you ever love me?
Vampires
Only creep when their feed is alseep
Brigitte's Note: I wrote this about a love that doesn't just ask for your time, it drinks your very spirit until you’re hollowed out.
March
Flowers were soft
As spring wispers
Your name
My body was ready but you wanted to stay
Eyes shaped like almonds
With happiness and warmth
Three
The number of Spring
Unfolding life
Reassuring warmth
Within your tiny hands
March was born
Again
Brigitte's Note: I captured this moment of blooming grace when I finally met my daughter. As the winter frost faded, her arrival in March felt like the world was exhaling, turning my life into a garden of pure joy.
